Often, your metabolism decreases when you try to lose weight. This is a primitive response that our bodies have retained from earlier times to prevent weight loss when food was limited. If the thyroid decreases, I treat to return metabolism to normal to allow weight loss to continue.
While most people accept the idea that we should treat type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol problems with medications, some people continue to think that we should not use medications to help with weight loss and maintenance. But problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, etc., generally improve with weight loss. And there’s a very long list of other things that improve with weight loss including liver problems, weight-related arthritis pain, sleep apnea, and many many more. A variety of prescription medications can be used alone or in combinations to help you lose weight and keep it off. Some of these medications are approved by the FDA for weight loss, others are approved for other problems but have decreased appetite as a side effect. Carol helps people lose weight and keep it off with a combination of medications for appetite control to help you stay on a healthy eating plan.

GIVE Fitness Health Club is being brought to Atascadero under the umbrella of its parent company: Working to GIVE. Matthew Holguin started Working to GIVE when completing his MBA at Azusa Pacific University in 2005. It was his intention to create a company that was purpose driven rather than profit driven. As a result, the GIVE model pre-allocates all profits for the various businesses that currently operate under the Working to GIVE umbrella. 50% of GIVE profits are donated back into the communities in which GIVE businesses operate and the other 50% are reinvested back into the business in order to sustain the company’s growth pattern. It is GIVE’s mission to provide life in its fullness for 100 countries over the next 20 years – truly loving our neighbors as ourselves!

“I’ve been a client at HI for 7 months. During this time, I’ve lost 44 pounds and over 25 inches! Even more, I feel better about myself than I ever have in my life! The combination of exercise (mostly a circuit, but other equipment is also available) along with a healthy eating regimen, has me feeling “gorgeous” ( a comment from a cousin I hadn’t seen in a while)! This program works, but it does require a sincere commitment from anyone who starts. Carol and her team are the best! I really appreciate the one-on-one counseling, the relaxation chair, and the other ladies who use this gym! I’m so excited to be alive and thinner…and on my way to being thin!!” – Madeline G.
