Atascadero law firm adds two attorneys to expanding team

– Atascadero-based law firm Simas & Associates announced the addition of two attorneys, Katherine A. Porter and Keely Auchampach, as the law firm expands its legal team.
The firm said the hires reflect plans to expand capacity while continuing to serve licensed professionals and employers throughout California.
Porter brings more than 25 years of legal experience and manages the firm’s litigation practice group. She represents licensed professionals in regulatory investigations, disciplinary proceedings, and administrative hearings.
Before joining the firm, Porter practiced at Nossaman LLP, where she represented cities, counties, and public agencies in complex litigation and advisory matters in state and federal courts. The firm said her background working with government and regulatory bodies provides insight into processes that affect licensed professionals across California.
Porter earned a Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law, where she served as articles editor of the UCLA Law Review. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, cum laude, from Connecticut College. She is admitted to practice in California and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Auchampach joined the firm to support litigation and advisory work through legal research, analysis, and client advocacy.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science, magna cum laude, from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a concentration in pre-law, and a Juris Doctor from the Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law.
During her legal training, Auchampach worked as a law clerk at a Southern California law firm, where she conducted legal research, drafted settlement demands, and assisted with case preparation. She also gained experience in family law through a legal internship in Idaho. After completing law school, Auchampach returned to the Central Coast to begin her legal career.
