Watercolor exhibition to be held at Art Center Morro Bay 

–The Central Coast Watercolor Society has announced Aquarius 2019 California Open Watermedia Exhibition, to be held Feb. 21 – April 1, 2019, at Art Center Morro Bay, 835 Main Street, in Morro Bay.

The juried show features a selection of works by watermedia artists residing in California, including many local artists. Opening reception and awards presentation happens Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, 4 – 6 p.m. The juror of selection and awards for the exhibit, David Lobenberg, will give a gallery talk, which will be followed by awards and the presentation of new signature members.

With over 35 years of teaching experience in both college-level classes and private art classes, Lobenberg instructs a method of what he calls “California Vibe Watercolor Portraiture.” His style encompasses expressive, vividly wild, vibrant color. His figurative works are thoughtful, evoking a unique perspective and loads of personality. His spontaneous painting style awakens every painting with strong color and emotion.
