Voters to decide whether treasurer, city clerk should be appointed
City is among minority of jurisdictions with elective positions
–At Tuesday night’s Atascadero City Council Meeting, the council unanimously decided to direct the city clerk to bring back a resolution in June to place two measures on the November ballot that would allow voters to decide if two city positions should remain elected positions, or if they should be appointed by the city manager, according to assistant city manager Terrie Banish.
The two positions, city clerk and treasurer, are currently elected positions. Paso Robles is the only other city in the county that holds elections for these positions.
