CHP calls death ‘suspicious’
– The California Highway Patrol has released additional information about the body found along Highway 101 near Vineyard Drive.
According to the agency, the San Luis Obispo Communications Center received a report at approximately 11:05 a.m. from California Department of Transportation personnel about a possible body on the west shoulder of Highway 101 near Vineyard Drive.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol’s Templeton Area office and fire personnel responded to the scene, where they found a man lying face down on the dirt shoulder. Investigators said no personal identification was found near the scene.
The California Highway Patrol’s Coastal Division Investigative Services Unit is investigating the incident as the suspicious death of an unidentified person.

– Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body off Highway 101 in Templeton, according to reports.
The body was discovered on the southbound side of Highway 101, just south of Vineyard Drive, by Caltrans crews at about 11 a.m. Friday.
The investigation caused significant traffic delays in the area into Friday afternoon and remains ongoing.
There is no information at this time regarding the identity of the person. Updates will be made when more information is available.
