Templeton Community Services District seeks committee members
Residents 16 and older can apply for advisory committee positions
– The Templeton Community Services District is seeking community members to serve on district committees that review projects, financial reports, and other informational items and provide recommendations to the Board of Directors.
The district is accepting applications for primary member positions on the Administration/Finance Committee and the Measure A Oversight Committee, as well as alternate member positions for all internal standing committees.
The Templeton Community Services District is an independent government agency that provides water, sewer, fire and emergency services, solid waste, parks and recreation, and limited drainage and street lighting services to approximately 8,000 residents.
Committee meetings are held on an as-needed basis, typically three to five times per year during regular business hours. Members must be at least 16 years old and reside within district boundaries.
Committee members must comply with the district’s Conflict of Interest Code and file a Statement of Economic Interests, known as Form 700, through the Fair Political Practices Commission. Information about Form 700 is available at https://www.fppc.ca.gov/siteassets/documents/tad/form_700/2025-26/form_700_2025_ref_pamphlet.pdf.
The Administration/Finance Committee reviews financial management matters, including the annual budget, major expenditures, and annual audits. The committee may recommend policies, programs, and projects to the Board of Directors.
The Water and Wastewater Utilities Committee reviews water and wastewater facilities, including maintenance and operations of the wastewater treatment plant, lift stations, wells, and distribution system. The committee may recommend policies, programs, and projects to the board.
The Fire and Emergency Management Committee reviews fire department effectiveness, efficiency, incident response, property preservation, and community health, safety, and wellness. The committee also works on emergency preparedness planning and evaluates district capabilities and hazards. The committee may recommend policies, programs, and projects to the board.
The Parks, Recreation, and Refuse Committee reviews recreation policies, programs, projects, and parks, and oversees the franchise agreement for solid waste and recycling services within district boundaries. The committee may recommend policies, programs, and projects to the board.
The Measure A Oversight Committee reviews expenditures from Measure A parcel tax revenues and informs the public and the Board of Directors about how those funds are spent. Measure A was approved by district voters in 2019 and established a special annual tax to fund 24-hour staffing for Templeton fire and emergency services. Committee members serve initial two-year or three-year terms. The committee meets twice per year on an as-needed basis, and members must reside within district boundaries.
Applications must be submitted by Aug. 10. The Board of Directors is expected to select committee members during its Aug. 18 meeting.
