Symphony of the Vines, established in 2010, is a professional association of symphony musicians providing orchestral concerts to the residents and visitors of northern San Luis Obispo County on California’s central coast. The organization also offers educational programs, including mentoring opportunities for young musicians through its Student Spotlight program, and presents interactive performances at local schools.
The chamber orchestra was founded by music director Greg Magie to bring live classical music to North County. Since its first concert in 2010, the orchestra has performed regularly, with the Off-the-Vines concert series, which began in 2015, featuring chamber music from musicians within the orchestra. The organization is known for its performances of music from the 1600s to world premieres of newly composed works.
