Summer Movies in the Park returns to Atascadero
Family-friendly films will be shown in June and August
– The City of Atascadero will host two free Summer Movies in the Park events at Colony Park Softball Field No. 2 this summer.
The screenings are scheduled for Saturday, June 13, and Saturday, Aug. 29, at the softball field located at 5599 Traffic Way, next to the Colony Park Community Center. Movies will begin about 15 minutes after sunset.
Games and activities for families will begin at 7 p.m. before each movie.
The June 13 screening will feature “Zootopia 2” (PG). According to the event description, detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde investigate a conspiracy involving the city’s origins after a pit viper returns to expose a historical cover-up. The pair must go undercover, explore new parts of the city, and confront a dangerous aristocratic family.
The Aug. 29 screening will feature “Footloose” (PG). The film follows Ren McCormack after he moves from Chicago to a small Midwestern town where dancing and rock music have been outlawed. The story follows his efforts to fit in and challenge the restrictions.
Food will be available for purchase at both events. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and low-back chairs.
The events are free and open to the public.
