SLO Wind Orchestra performing in Atascadero
Concert is open to all at no cost on a first-come, first-serve basis
– The San Luis Obispo Wind Orchestra (SLO Winds) invites the public to a free chamber concert on Sunday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m., hosted at the Atascadero United Methodist Church, located at 11605 El Camino Real, in Atascadero.
Renowned for their musicianship and commitment to engaging audiences, the SLO Wind Orchestra promises a captivating experience. The concert will feature a double-wind quintet performing Charles Gounod’s “Petite Symphonie.” Various small ensembles, including the Pegasus Ensemble, consisting of two flutes, will present three captivating scenes. The Wind in the Reeds Clarinet Ensemble will showcase their skills with the “Licorice Stick Suite” and the classic “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.”
The concert is open to all at no cost on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to limited seating, early arrival is recommended. The event encourages donations to support the orchestra’s ongoing commitment to musical excellence.
Founded 23 years ago, the SLO Wind Orchestra comprises 60 wind and percussion players dedicated to symphonic wind band music.
