Police outreach team aids 10 homeless individuals in housing efforts

– In a span of three months, the Atascadero Police Department’s OUR/CAT team has made 356 contacts with individuals experiencing homelessness, ultimately providing housing or shelter assistance to 10 of them. Among these cases, two individuals have successfully secured permanent housing, while three others have commenced a 90-day program with ECHO (Every Citizen’s Hope Organization). The remaining five individuals have all enrolled in ECHO’s 90-day housing program, with each at various stages of recovery and rehabilitation.

Additionally, the team reached out to a homeless individual from another state and, thanks to the Homeward Bound Grant, secured transportation to reunite them with their family in their home state.
