Pedestrian struck by car, sustains major injuries 

heck and credit card fraud–On Tuesday at 10:21 p.m., officers from San Luis Obispo Police Department along with San Luis Obispo Fire Department responded to Osos and Pismo for an injury traffic collision. When officers arrived, they located a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.

The investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was traveling on Osos approaching the intersection of Pismo. When the vehicle entered the intersection, it struck a pedestrian who was crossing Osos perpendicular to the roadway. The pedestrian sustained major injuries because of the collision and was flown to Stanford University Medical Center for further treatment. The pedestrian has not been positively identified and the investigation is still on going, according to police.

Officers determined that the driver of the vehicle was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Officers were unable to determine if the pedestrian was impaired from alcohol or drugs due to his medical injuries.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department is asking for anyone who witnessed this collision to please contact the Traffic Safety Unit (805) 594-8066 or Crime Stoppers (805) 549-7867 with information.
