Obituary of Emily Terese Chapman, 63

Emily Terese Chapman.

– Emily Terese Chapman passed away on February 6, 2025, in Atascadero, California after a brave struggle with ovarian cancer. Born on October 9, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, she will be remembered by those who knew Em for her kind, outgoing, generous, and charitable nature. Emily was deeply loved and is survived by her lifemate and husband, Tim Bauman. High school sweethearts, their love spanned four and a half decades. Daughter of Walter and Mary Ann Chapman and sister to Carol and Andrew. Emily was affectionately known as Auntie Em to Mary Frances, Jason H., Jason B., Derrenda, Kyle, Carol, Melissa, Allison, Nick, and Tracy.

Emily had a deep passion for social justice and equality for all. She dedicated herself to advocating for the welfare of those unable to defend themselves. She was committed to preserving the natural world, cherishing the outdoors, and worked tirelessly to protect the environment for future generations. Her love of nature extended to all living things, reflecting her lifelong dedication to animal welfare, conservation, and sustainability.

She loved to travel and explore different cultures, food, and wine. In her younger years, Emily was an avid skier, tennis player, and hiker. She possessed an amazing sense of humor and optimism. Emily and her gorgeous smile and personality lit up any room she entered. As was her lifelong passion and upbringing, she never attended a social function empty handed and her culinary skills never went unnoticed or unappreciated.

As diehard Chicago Cubs fans, Emily and Tim often traveled to see their favorite team play whenever they could.

She was a gifted artist, chef, baker, and successful restaurant/catering and bed & breakfast business owner as well as partner with Tim at AllSigns & Graphics, Inc. in Atascadero, CA since 2014. One of their greatest accomplishments together was being featured for their outstanding sign work in the May/June issue of SignCraft magazine.

May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing. Emily’s philosophy was to live life to its fullest, with passion, joy, and love. Be better, be kind.
