Programs offer incentives for homes, farms, businesses, and fleets switching to electric

– Central Coast Community Energy has launched its 2026-27 customer rebate and support programs to help households, farms, and businesses buy electric vehicles, install charging equipment, and make other electrical upgrades, according to the public agency. The programs offer financial incentives and logistical help at no additional cost to eligible customers.

Last month, the agency’s policy board approved expanded investments in programs that help customers optimize energy use and electrify transportation, buildings, and agricultural operations. Customers can explore available programs, review eligibility, and apply on the agency’s rebates and incentives page.

“Our programs help people take practical next steps, whether that means buying an electric car, installing a charger, updating farm equipment, or planning a large fleet of vehicles,” said Chris Cook, director of energy programs at 3CE. “Making the switch to electric can lower pollution, but customers need options that work for their budget and their daily lives.”

The Electrify Your Ride program continues to offer rebates for qualifying new and used all-electric vehicles. Income-qualified customers may also apply for rebates for plug-in hybrid vehicles. The program includes rebates for qualifying Level 2 home chargers, bidirectional chargers, and related electrical work and installation. Customers may also be able to combine the agency’s incentives with other programs, including California’s MyFirstEV program.

The Electrify Your Home program helps homeowners and renters replace gas-burning appliances with efficient electric options. Rebates are available for qualifying heat-pump heating and air-conditioning systems, heat-pump water heaters, induction cooktops and ranges, and portable heat-pump space conditioners for renters. Higher rebates are available for income-qualified customers and qualifying multifamily affordable housing projects.

The Agricultural Electrification Program now offers rebates for qualifying used and leased all-electric equipment, in addition to new equipment. The program also includes a revised rebate structure and enhanced incentives for qualifying small and emerging agricultural businesses. Eligible customers can use rebates to help replace fossil-fueled farm equipment, including tools, vehicles, irrigation pumps, and other equipment, with electric alternatives.

The agency also offers no-cost planning support. Its new EV Launchpad Technical Assistance Program helps eligible customers plan fleet electrification or electric vehicle charging projects. Depending on the project, assistance may include fleet-transition and charging-infrastructure plans, charger siting and design, engineering support, and help identifying potential funding sources.

The Electric Bus Program helps schools, transit agencies, and farmworker transportation providers buy or lease all-electric buses. Enhanced incentives are available for qualifying projects in priority communities.

Program applications are subject to eligibility requirements and available funding, according to the agency. Paso Robles Daily News previously reported on the agency’s earlier electric vehicle rebates.

Central Coast Community Energy is a public agency that sources electricity from clean and renewable energy resources. It is governed by local officials and serves more than 1.2 million people in Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz counties.
