Hot weather continues this week in Atascadero
Heat advisory active through Tuesday evening
– An excessive heat warning remains in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday for North County. Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with temperatures ranging from 98 to 108 degrees.
There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness, particularly for the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors.
The excessive heat conditions will peak on Tuesday.
To stay safe, drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments for those working outdoors. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency; call 911.
Monday’s expected high temperature is 98, Tuesday’s is 99.
