Highway 101 project in San Miguel continues with ramp reconstruction
–A project to improve US Highway 101 in the San Miguel area will continue with ramp reconstruction at the South Camp Roberts Overhead (North Mission Street).
Motorists can expect a full closure of the northbound US 101 on-ramp at the South Camp Roberts Overhead (North Mission Street) beginning Monday, Sept. 9 until mid-October. Motorists wishing to access northbound US 101 at the South Camp Roberts Overhead (North Mission Street) may detour south on Mission Street to the US 101 northbound on-ramp at 10th Street.
The southbound US 101 off-ramp at the South Camp Roberts Overhead will continue to be closed for reconstruction until mid-October. Motorists may detour by exiting US 101 at the southbound 10th Street off-ramp and proceeding north on Mission Street.
This project includes a realignment of US 101 to accommodate a new right-hand southbound on-ramp at South Mission Street, paving US 101 and nearby ramps and lowering the profile of US 101 at Camp Roberts to achieve a minimum bridge clearance height. Drainage systems, guardrail, and lighting will also be improved within this corridor.
The contractor for this $53 million project is Security Paving of Westlake Village, CA. It’s scheduled to be complete by the Spring of 2020. The public may learn more about these highway upgrades on the Caltrans District 5 Projects page: https://dot.ca.gov/caltrans-near-me/district-5.
