High School Jazz Band raising funds to travel to Reno festival

–The Atascadero High School Jazz Bands are currently raising funds to help them travel to Reno Jazz Festival. “This is an excellent opportunity not only to compete and receive constructive feedback from judges, but also to see performances by some of the best high school and college jazz musicians in the Western U.S.,” said AHS Band Booster Publicity Team Member Jennifer Best.

In addition to the barbecues, poinsettia sales and other fund-raising efforts made by students so far this year, they have set up a GoFundMe page complete with thank-you gifts at specified funding levels. For instance, for a donation of $750, donors receive a 90-minute performance at their venue/event by the AHS Jazz Combo. Only three of these are available. Sponsors/donors may also receive t-shirts, membership cards with value, sweatshirt, even the opportunity to add their business or personal logo to the bands’ trailer.

As of Feb. 15, the page had raised $1,315 towards a $10,000 goal,
