Firestone Walker Brewing Company is hosting a “From the Barrel” event on April 10. The event will be speakeasy themed, and will feature an array of barrel aged libations such as rare beers, bourbons, and ports, paired with live music and local fare.

The event will happen at the historic Santa Margarita Ranch, with craft libations provided by producers such as Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace, Russian River Brewing Company, Ballast Point Brewing, Pendleton, Elijah Craig and many others from the Central Coast and around the nation. In all, more than 40 distillers, port producers and breweries will be in the mix.

The event is presented by Firestone, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Woods Humane Society. “You won’t find this kind of gathering under one roof anywhere else,” said Jamie Smith, Firestone Walker’s marketing director. “It’s a can’t-miss event for any enthusiast of barrel-aged libations.”

From The Barrel will also feature live music by the Ventucky String Band as well as food provided by more than a dozen Central Coast restaurants, including Artisan, Windows on The Water, Novo, 15 Degrees C and Granada Bistro.

According to Firestone representative Chris Weir, From The Barrel commemorates the passage of the Cullen-Harrison Act on April 7, 1933, legalizing beer sales and helping pave the way for the repeal of Prohibition. Weir said that “Guests are accordingly encouraged to don their most dapper 1920s attire (or hipster equivalent).”

The cost is $80 per person, inclusive of food and tastings. Tickets can be purchased via: www.fromthebarrel.net.

Guests can take complimentary shuttles from the Firestone Walker Taproom in Paso Robles and Pappy McGregor’s in San Luis Obispo on a first come, first served basis. Shuttles from Pappy McGregor’s in SLO depart at 5:15 p.m., 5:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Shuttles from the Firestone Walker Taproom in Paso Robles depart at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Shuttles are provided by Hop On Beer Tours.
