Early morning fireworks prompt multiple calls to Atascadero police

Suspect evades police after setting off fireworks

Atascadero Police received multiple reports of fireworks going off early Wednesday morning, around 5:10 a.m. The reports indicated the sounds continued for some time.

Police Commander Robert Molle stated, “We received multiple calls this morning around 5:10 a.m. The calls were primarily received from the Rosario, Tunitas area, and one from Nacimiento. One caller reported seeing someone set off the fireworks and leave the area. Officers checked, and the suspect was already gone.”
