Driver in Morro Bay flees DUI crash, later returns

Driver crashes into a wall on South Bay Boulevard

– The Morro Bay Police Department has issued a reminder to the public about the dangers of driving under the influence, following a collision on South Bay Boulevard.

According to the department, the driver of the vehicle crashed into a wall on South Bay Boulevard. The driver initially left the scene but later returned and took responsibility for the collision. Police reported that the driver was uninjured but was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The wall sustained moderate damage.

In a statement shared ahead of the holiday weekend, the department emphasized the importance of safe driving practices. “Drinking and driving is never okay,” the statement read. The department urged those celebrating with alcohol to use a sober driver and reminded unlicensed individuals to arrange transportation with a sober, licensed driver.
