Driver arrested after speeding over 100 mph on Highway 101
– A California Highway Patrol officer arrested a driver on suspicion of reckless driving last week after stopping the vehicle on Highway 101 between Atascadero and Templeton, where the pursuit ended, after observing the driver traveling more than 100 mph, passing vehicles from the median, and driving with disregard for other motorists.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s Templeton Area office, the officer observed the driver traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph while passing vehicles from the median and driving “with complete disregard for everyone on the roadway.”
The officer stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver for reckless driving because of the danger created by the driver’s actions.
