December programming at the Atascadero Library

The Atascadero Library is located at 6555 Capistrano Ave in Atascadero.

–The Atascadero Library has announced programming for December.

The library will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas holiday. The library will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Jan. 31.

Children’s programs

Preschool storytimes
Preschool storytimes are scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30. They will share stories and songs.

Toddler Storytime
Storytime specifically designed for toddlers every Friday morning at 10:30. They will share stories, rhymes, music and finger plays.

Craft Club 
Come make a fun project! Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 3:30 p.m. Registration required. Ages 6-12.

Family Movie
Saturday, Dec. 7 at 9 p.m. Fun for all ages.

Paws to Read to Daisy
Read a story to Daisy the dog and she will listen. Thursday, Dec. 5 and 19 at 3:30 p.m. Suitable for all ages.

Princess and Prince tea party
Join a real princess and prince for stories, songs, and a tea party! Happening Saturday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. Registration required. For ages 5-12.

Teen Programs

Teen Advisory Board Meeting
Bring your ideas on what you would like to see in the Library and stay for the raffle and refreshments! Sign up at the meeting required. Board meets every third Friday of the month. This month’s meeting is on Friday, Dec. 20 at 3:30 p.m. For ages 13-17.

Adult Programs

Fused glass workshop
Make beautiful fused glass pieces to take home. Happening Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Book discussion groups 
The two library book groups are Gem in the Stacks which meets the 1st Tuesday of the month at 11:00 and Mixed Minds Book Group which meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at 2:30. Gems in the Stacks will discuss The Library Book by Susan Orlean. Mixed Minds will discuss The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George.

Drawn to the Central Coast art exhibit 
This exhibit features local artists Tracy Paz and Drew Mayerson. Art is on display from December through February.
