Dancers invited to audition for anniversary production of ‘The Nutcracker’
– North County Dance Foundation has announced auditions for its 30th anniversary production of “The Nutcracker: A Storybook Ballet.”
The production marks three decades since the ballet premiered in 1996. According to the foundation, the production has brought together dancers, families, alumni, volunteers, and audiences from throughout San Luis Obispo County. The anniversary production will honor the ballet’s history while welcoming new dancers.
Auditions are open to dancers ages 6 through adult and will be held Aug. 22 at Class Act Dance Studio, 1324 Vendels Circle, Suite 101, in Paso Robles.
An information meeting is scheduled for Aug. 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the studio. Callbacks will be held on Aug. 23 by invitation only.
Performances are scheduled for Dec. 4-6 at Spanos Theatre at Cal Poly. The foundation also plans to present a sensory-friendly performance of Act II on Dec. 12 at the Templeton Performing Arts Center.
