Cuesta offering free nursing program information sessions
–Those in the community interested in the field of nursing are invited to attend free Nursing Program Information Sessions. Held throughout October the sessions focus on the three nursing programs offered by Cuesta College. Attendees will receive a basic overview of the pre-requisite coursework, admission criteria, program requirements, and the application processes.
“Our nursing program continues to be one of the best in the state of California, with extremely high passing rates on the licensure exam,” said Cuesta College Director of Nursing and Allied Health Marcia Scott. “And this is the 50th year of the Nursing Program at Cuesta College! It is an exciting time to explore a career in nursing at Cuesta.”
Cuesta College’s accredited nursing program was established in 1967. In 2016, Cuesta College and California State University at Monterey Bay launched a concurrent Associate Degree in Nursing to Bachelor’s Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) enrollment pathway. The partnership allows Cuesta’s Registered Nursing students the opportunity to achieve a BSN in about three years.
LVN Program Information Session—Oct 12
The Cuesta College Licensed Vocational Nursing program prepares students for entry-level vocational nursing positions in a variety of healthcare settings. The session is from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at the North County Campus, room N2407. The campus is located at 2800 Buena Vista Dr, Paso Robles.
AP LVN to RN Program Information Session—Oct 16
Attendance at a recent AP LVN to RN Information Session is mandatory in order to receive a application for this program. Advanced Placement LVN to RN Pathway allows LVN’s with one year of work experience to enter the Associate Degree RN Program in the second semester. The session is from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at the San Luis Obispo Campus, room 2401. Click here for directions.
RN Program Information Session —Oct 23
The Registered Nursing Program at Cuesta College provides graduates with an Associate in Science Degree in Registered Nursing (ADN). Students in the program participate in community based internships and preceptorships. The session is from 6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. at San Luis Obispo Campus, room 2401.Click here for directions.
