Community radio station hosting benefit screening of The Who’s ‘Tommy’

– The Rock Community Radio will present a benefit screening of The Who’s rock opera “Tommy” on Monday, Jan. 19, at the Bay Theatre in Morro Bay.
Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the screening beginning at 6 p.m. Proceeds from the one-night event will support The Rock Community Radio.
The screening will feature the film adaptation of “Tommy,” with performances by Roger Daltrey, Ann-Margret, and Oliver Reed, along with appearances by Elton John, Tina Turner, and Eric Clapton.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in costumes themed around “Tommy” or The Who for a costume contest. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the venue.
“This is more than just a movie night; it’s a celebration of classic rock and community,” said Hal Abrams, founder of The Rock. “Every ticket purchased helps keep the airwaves open for unique, local, and diverse programming that The Rock Community Radio provides. We can’t wait to share this incredible film with our supporters at the beautiful Bay Theatre.”
