Community radio channel to host Monty Python fundraiser
Event will include a costume contest, food and beverages for purchase, and a screening of the comedy film
– The Rock Community Radio will host a benefit screening of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” on Monday, Oct. 26, at the historic Bay Theatre in Morro Bay.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. for pre-show activities, with the film beginning at 6 p.m.
The event will include a costume contest, with attendees encouraged to dress in medieval-themed costumes, including knight armor, Killer Rabbit attire, or Tim the Enchanter robes. The contest will offer prizes for the best-dressed attendees.
Beer and wine will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
Attendees also will have an opportunity to meet volunteer radio hosts and learn more about the station’s programming.
Proceeds from the event will support The Rock Community Radio’s non-commercial programming, including music, news and community programming on the Central Coast. The station broadcasts on 97.3 FM in Morro Bay and 107.9 FM in Paso Robles and streams online.
Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased in advance at TheRockCommunityRadio.org or my805tix.com. Seating is limited.
