“Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers affecting women in the U.S., but progress in research and early detection is saving lives,” said Mark Grace, a franchisee who owns eight Great Clips salons in the area. “With Mother’s Day coming up, our salons and stylists see May is the perfect time to partner with the community to fundraise for Susan G. Komen to help advance research, expand access to care, and move closer to a future without this disease.”

This marks the first year of partnership between the salons and Susan G. Komen. In addition to the May fundraiser, Great Clips locations in the United States and Canada participate year-round in the Clips of Kindness program, which provides free clipper cuts to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Since 2013, the program has provided more than 500,000 free clipper cuts.

“For many, choosing when and how to lose their hair is a meaningful way to reclaim control during a difficult time, and the Clips of Kindness program is one way Great Clips salons continue to stand with those impacted by cancer,” Grace said.

Great Clips, Inc. was established in 1982 in Minneapolis and operates more than 4,400 salons across the United States and Canada. The company is franchised, with salons owned locally by nearly 600 franchisees.
