– The Gala Pride and Diversity Center has announced a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of Todd Joseph Pinion, who recently died in a tragedy that has been charged as a hate crime. The vigil will take place on Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. at the center, located at 1060 Palm Street in San Luis Obispo.
Pinion, described by the organization as a beloved friend, son, brother, and neighbor, was remembered as a cherished member of the community. The center emphasized the importance of resilience and unity as the community grieves together.
The vigil will provide an opportunity for participants to reflect, share in collective grief, and support one another. The organization has also invited the public to contribute donations to assist Pinion’s family during this difficult time. Donations can be made online at Todd Pinion’s Family Donation Platform.
The Gala Pride and Diversity Center reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safer and more inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals in San Luis Obispo County, vowing to continue advocating against hate and discrimination.
