Camp supports foster children in North County

Organizers requesting financial contributions, supplies, and volunteer help from local churches, businesses, community partners
– Royal Family Kids Camp North County will host its first summer camp June 29 through July 3 in North County, San Luis Obispo County, providing children in foster care with a week of activities and support.
The camp serves children who have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma, or abandonment. Organizers said the program includes activities, games, birthday celebrations, outdoor recreation, and one-on-one support from trained volunteers.
“This camp is about giving children a chance to simply be kids,” camp leadership said. “Many of these children have experienced very difficult circumstances, and we want them to leave camp knowing they are special, seen, and worthy of love.”
Volunteers staff the camp, and donations, local churches, businesses, and community partners support it. Organizers said they are seeking financial support, supplies, and volunteers for the program.
The camp will serve children throughout North County and aims to help build relationships with trusted adults as participants grow and transition out of the foster care system.
Organizers said the program also focuses on helping children build confidence, trust, and hope for the future.
