CAB Collective announces details for 2015 CABs of Distinction

CAB CollectiveCABs of Distinction – A celebration of cabernet sauvignon & red Bordeaux varietals

The Paso Robles CAB (Cabernet And Bordeaux) Collective (PRCC) today announced details for its third annual CABs of Distinction events:

  • Trade/Media events, May 5-7, 2015
  • Consumer Grand Tasting, May 2, 2015

After the success of the last two CABs of Distinction events, launched in 2013 to celebrate and promote cabernet sauvignon and red Bordeaux varietals produced in Paso Robles, California, the PRCC is gearing up for even greater offerings in 2015, taking place in locations across the Paso Robles AVA with enhanced sommelier, media, trade and consumer experiences.

Media & Trade-only events, May 5-7

The PRCC has made complimentary tickets available for qualified media and trade to attend trade-focused events that will enlighten attendees on cabernet and red Bordeaux varietals from Paso Robles. The non-profit association of 25 members will host: En Primeur, barrel tastings from the as-yet-unreleased 2014 vintage alongside current vintage wines on May 5 in the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom. The following day will include a vintner panel discussion followed by a host of varied unique tastings, including interactive blind tastings and more, sponsored by The Tasting Panel and The SOMM Journal magazines. Thursday, May 7 will consist of self-directed vineyard and winery tours of PRCC members where trade and media will get a hands-on approach in the vineyards, barrel rooms, and cellars to experience terroir evaluations, component tastings, and one-on-one time with growers. The three-day event provides media and trade with unique opportunities to see and taste, first-hand what goes into producing superior-quality, classic and age-worthy cabernet and red Bordeaux varietals from the Paso Robles AVA. Tickets to the media and trade events can be requested by emailing: info@pasoroblescab.com

Consumer Event: Grand Tasting, Saturday, May 2

The CABs of Distinction Grand Tasting will be held yet again at River Oaks Hot Springs in Paso Robles and will include tastings of 75-plus cabernet and red Bordeaux varietals from 25+ wineries. Enjoy complimentary chocolate tastings, olive oil tastings, honey tastings, personal plates of cheese and charcuterie, and more throughout the day as you listen to live music and lounge lakeside at this elegant event. The CABs of Distinction Grand Tasting is the ideal opportunity to Taste. Celebrate. Discover.
