Atascadero Printery to host Dracula night, seeks performers for talent weekend
Performers of all ages invited to apply for Press Play! Community Talent Weekend in November
– The Atascadero Printery Foundation will host an evening of Dracula and dancing on Friday, Oct. 30, and is accepting performer applications for its Press Play! Community Talent Weekend, planned for Nov. 13-14.
The Dracula event takes place at the historic Printery, 6351 Olmeda Ave. in Atascadero. VIP doors open at 5:30 p.m., general admission doors open at 6 p.m., the program begins at 7 p.m., and the movie starts at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $15, and VIP admission is $30. Tickets are available online.
Press Play! welcomes performers of all ages from throughout North County, including singers, dancers, musicians, comedians, magicians, spoken-word performers, storytellers, and people with other talents. The talent weekend dates are tentative and subject to change, according to the foundation. Selected winners will be invited to perform at the Printery Gala on Sunday, Nov. 15.
Applicants should provide a 30- to 90-second performance sample. A phone recording is welcome; video is preferred when seeing the act matters, and audio is acceptable for singers and musicians. Performers under 18 need a parent or legal guardian to review the application and give permission. Applications are reviewed for selection and do not guarantee a performance slot.
To apply, visit the foundation’s events page and follow the Press Play! performer signup link. The application does not require a Google account.
The volunteer-led nonprofit is working to restore the Printery, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A-Town Daily News previously reported on the effort to renovate the building.
