Atascadero Community Band awards scholarship to local student

– The Atascadero Community Band awarded a $500 scholarship to Charlie Steele during its May concert at Atascadero Bible Church.

The scholarship is awarded annually to support local students who have participated in the band for more than two years.

Charlie Steele, a graduating senior, plans to attend Cuesta College in the fall with the goal of becoming a music teacher. She has participated in both school and community music programs.

“This scholarship is our way of supporting the next generation of musicians and music educators,” said band president Joyce Rabellino. “We’re thrilled to support Charlie as she continues her musical journey.”

The Atascadero Community Band is an all-age, all-volunteer ensemble that offers free concerts and promotes music education throughout the community.
