Atascadero Chamber of Commerce CEO announces retirement
Linda Hendy announces retirement after 21 years in the chamber industry
–Atascadero Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Linda Hendy has announced that after 21 years in the Chamber of Commerce Industry (Seven of those with Atascadero) she will be retiring from the Atascadero Chamber and Chamber Industry effective January 2018. She said she is looking forward to assisting the Executive Board Members with the CEO succession plan & new hire and is excited to become a new member as a small business owner in the near future.
The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce celebrated 95 Years in 2017 and continues the mission of “Promoting Business” and enhancing the economic and civic welfare of Atascadero. The chamber still supports that same goal through a number of programs, events and services. Lakeside Wine Festival and Leadership North County two of the biggest events/programs managed by the Atascadero Chamber to help promote business and community engagement are just an example of the good work done by chamber staff and the Board of Directors.
As Hendy steps down, she is able to assure chamber of commerce members, as well as our community that the organization will be in good hands with a selected successor. “These last seven years have been the most rewarding experience for me both personally and professionally” said Hendy. The community of Atascadero welcomed me with open arms after the un-expected loss of their current CEO in 2011 and I am committed to leaving the Atascadero Chamber in its state of success it currently expects and enjoys.
The Hiring process for her replacement is expected to get underway Oct. 1.
