Zoo to host ‘Holiday Magic’ celebration
Free, family-friendly event goes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
–The Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero will be hosting their annual, “Holiday Magic” celebration on Saturday, Dec. 19, starting at 11 a.m. Santa will be at the zoo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., to welcome visitors and to help deliver gifts to the animals. Zookeepers are stepping in as Santa’s elves and are preparing colorfully wrapped and tasty presents for all of the zoo residents to open and enjoy. The event is free to attend.
Wear your ugliest holiday sweater and enjoy other fun activities for the entire family all day long. There will be plenty of hot chocolate on hand, and the zoo will be decorated for the holidays.
Over 100 animals call the Charles Paddock Zoo home, including red pandas, monkeys, meerkats, parrots, a Malayan Tiger, a variety of reptiles. The zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Regular admission is $7 for adults 12 and over, $5 for children 3-11 and $6 for Seniors over 65. Children two and under are free.
