Woman dies in early morning crash in Templeton
Driver spun out, struck metal guardrail, concrete column
–A 23-year-old Paso Robles woman has died as a result of a car crash that occurred early Tuesday morning in Templeton, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened shortly after midnight. The driver, who was the solo occupant, was driving northbound on Highway 101, south of the Main Street over-crossing in Templeton. For unknown reasons she allowed her vehicle to drive off the roadway onto the right shoulder, police say. She then lost control of her vehicle and spun out, sending the vehicle into the median. The vehicle struck the metal guardrail and then the concrete column that supports the Main Street overpass. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The possibility of drugs or alcohol is still under investigation, but has not been ruled out, police say. The identity of the driver is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
