Woman arrested after smashing windows of local Motel 6
–On Wednesday, Morro Bay Police Officers received a report of a female with a baseball bat breaking windows of guest rooms at Motel 6. The female was described as a white female adult with short curly hair, blue jeans and carrying a silver and red aluminum bat. The female was later positively identified as Jamie Leighann Jordan.
Officers arrived on scene and were advised by patrons of the hotel that the female was last seen walking towards Lila Keizer Park. Officers made contact with the female subject who matched the description given and she was still carrying the silver and red aluminum bat. Officers ordered the suspect multiple times to drop the bat and she refused. Suspect Jordan advanced towards Officers with the bat raised in a threatening manner. One Officer fearing he was about to be assaulted with the bat, drew his duty weapon but did not fire and again ordered suspect Jordan to stop, she again refused. Another Officer displayed the laser on his department issued Taser along with multiple verbal commands to drop the bat which ultimately caused suspect Jordan to stop advancing and drop the bat. Suspect Jordan was less than 10 feet from Officers when she decided to comply with the Officer’s orders. Officers were able to safely de-escalate the incident and take suspect Jordan into custody. Neither Jordan nor the Officers sustained any injuries as a result of the arrest.
After Jordan was taken into custody, the extent of her rampage was discovered. Jordan destroyed 15 windows at Motel 6 causing an estimated $6000 worth of damage. Jordan was transported to and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
