Woman sustained moderate injuries, reports say
– A California Highway Patrol helicopter transported a woman to the hospital after she drove her van off a steep embankment on Highway 41 in Morro Bay on Sunday morning, reports say.
The crash was first reported around 10:30 a.m., according to emergency scanner service Pulse Point. Although she suffered moderate injuries, a helicopter rescue was determined to be the fastest and safest option instead of a rope rescue, reports said.
The woman was the only occupant of the van. A California Highway Patrol H-70 helicopter hoisted her from the scene and transported her to a hospital in Paso Robles.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
