Weekend vending opportunity available at Atascadero Lake Park
– The City of Atascadero and the Central Coast Zoo will launch a weekend vending program for local food vendors at Atascadero Lake Park starting in mid-August and running through mid-October.
The program will take place at the entrance of the Central Coast Zoo every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The goal is to provide food options currently not available to zoo visitors and parkgoers.
Scheduled vending dates are Aug. 30-31, Sept. 6-7, Sept. 13-14, Sept. 20-21, Sept. 27-28, Oct. 4-5, Oct. 11-12 and Oct. 18-19.
Vendors must offer a variety of food items and commit to operating both days each weekend. Participants are required to bring a small, quiet generator, as electricity will not be available. The city will require 9 percent of weekend sales, $1 million in general liability insurance naming the City of Atascadero as additionally insured, a current city business license, and a valid health department permit.
The vendor application deadline has been extended to Aug. 22. Applications are still being accepted to fill the remaining available slots.
