Votes now being taken for library Peeps diorama contest
Library hosts Peeps diorama contest in honor of National Library Week, April 12-18
Peeps are once again taking over the shelves at the Paso Robles City Library, as over ninety entries have been received for the Second Annual Peeps Diorama contest, held in honor of National Library Week.
Community members have been creating dioramas of their favorite books or works of art using only marshmallow Peeps as the characters. From dioramas depicting Peeper Rabbit in Mr. McGregor’s garden to a portrayal of the classic Moby Peep and many more, voters are invited to choose their favorites in family, children, teen and adult categories.
Votes may be cast until Saturday, April 18 with winners in all categories announced Wednesday, April 22.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the community participation and excitement around the second annual Peeps Diorama Contest,” said Heather Stephenson, Children’s Services Librarian. “The creativity and effort that so many folks put in to creating these marshmallow masterpieces is really incredible. It’s so gratifying to hear laughter throughout the library as patrons browse through the display areas and enjoy the show.”
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is marked as a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians, and to promote library use and support.
