VFW chili cook-off set for February 12 

2022 VFW 2814 Chili Cook-Off

Entries to the cook-off are due by February 4

–The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) 2814 is hosting a contest for the best local chili makers and chili tasters to enjoy on Saturday, February 12.

The contest is open to the public and also features a sundae bar, raffle prizes, Valentine’s Day bake sale and a Challengers Central Coast “Show & Shine”.

The top three entries, alongside the “People’s Choice” will all receive cash prizes and a complimentary event t-shirt.

Entry fees are $20 per entry with a limit of one per person. Entries are currently being accepted at the VFW 2814 Canteen, which is open starting at 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. It is also open on Wednesday afternoons, starting at 11 a.m. The deadline to enter is February 4 and entries are limited to 20.

Chili tasting wristbands cost $5 and include one “People’s Choice” vote. Remaining bowls of chili will be available to enjoy after judging for only $3.

In addition to the chili contest, attendees can enjoy raffle prizes.

VFW 2814 is located at 9555 Morro Road near Santa Rosa Road in Atascadero. All proceeds benefit the organization and its programs that serve local veterans, their families and the local community.
