Veteran’s resource fair held over the weekend in Atascadero
Hundreds of veterans and their families visit booths set up by local support organizations
– The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) 2814 of Atascadero and the San Luis Obispo County Veterans Services Office conducted a Veterans Resource Fair at Atascadero Lake Park Saturday.
Hundreds of veterans and their families visited booths by various government and non-profit groups which provide services for veterans.
Congressman Jimmy Panetta visited the fair to talk with veterans and hear their concerns. He advised them that he has opened an office at the train station in Paso Robles where Field Representative Diane Zanoti will be available to help veterans get the services they need from federal agencies.
Hosted by the free outdoor event will offer local veterans and their families the opportunity to find services for health, nutrition, mental wellness, financial assistance, legal aid, employment, education, and social opportunities.
