Vegetation fire burns 40 acres in Atascadero

– A vegetation fire burned about 40 acres in northern San Luis Obispo County on Monday afternoon before fire crews stopped its forward progress, according to multiple reports.

Firefighters responded to reports of the fire shortly after 2 p.m. along the 8600 block of San Carlos Road, west of Highway 101 and south of Highway 41.

Aircraft, dozers, hand crews, and engines were reportedly used to fight the fire.
