US Highway 101 road work may cause delays through Atascadero

-A project to place a protective overlay on US Highway 101 from the Traffic Way Undercrossing in Atascadero to the Vineyard Drive Overcrossing in Templeton began on Monday. This project is designed to extend the life of the pavement to ensure a smooth ride.

Motorists will encounter intermittent lane/ramp closures within the project area Sunday night through Friday morning during the overnight hours from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Motorists can expect minimal delays during this roadwork.

The contractor for this $2.7 million project is Papich Construction of Grover Beach, CA. This project is expected to be complete this December.

Caltrans asks motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
