Tree crashes into Atascadero apartment complex

–A large pine tree fell into an apartment complex on Amapoa Road in Atascadero Wednesday morning. Eight people were displaced due to the extensive damage, according to the City of Atascadero.
All occupants were evacuated without incident or injuries. The smell of natural gas was present and a water line was broken near one of the units. Both utilities were located and secured. Salvage operations were carried out for residents. Red Cross was requested to the scene and property owner contacted.
Firefighters estimate they were able to save $10,000 in property value. There was an estimated $400,000 in damage to the property.
