Monday’s forecast is 61 and partly cloudy

– After a mild and mostly dry start to the week, light rain is expected in Atascadero on Saturday, with a forecast of just 0.04 inches of precipitation. The rest of the week will remain sunny to partly cloudy, with daytime highs ranging from the low 60s to low 70s.

Temperatures will start in the low 60s Monday, gradually climbing to a high of 72 on Thursday, which is expected to be the warmest day of the week. Overnight lows will hover between 40 and 44 degrees, providing cool, crisp evenings.

Saturday’s light rain will be brief, giving way to mostly cloudy skies on Sunday. Highs will cool slightly into the low 60s before rebounding to 67 on Monday.

The Central Coast has mostly avoided the more extreme weather phenomena that affected other parts of the state this weekend due to this storm system. In Northern California, a tornado tore through the town of Scotts Valley. Click here to watch a video of the tornado and aftermath posted on the Weather Channel’s website.
