Tower of Power, War to perform at Vina Robles
Co headlining show hits the stage Sept. 24
–Tower of Power will co-headline with War for one night only at Vina Robles Amphitheatre on Saturday, Sept. 24. The show starts at 7 p.m., doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale online on April 30, 10 a.m.
Since 1968, Tower of Power has been delivering its unique brand of “Oakland style” music. Leader and founding member Emilio Castillo labeled the group’s sound as “Urban Soul Music.” Over the years, Tower of Power has performed with some of music’s biggest names including Elton John, Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis, Little Feat, Dionne Warwick, David Sanborn, Paula Abdul, Aaron Neville, Aerosmith, Michael Bolton, Billy Preston, Rod Stewart, Toto, and more. The group’s collection of hits includes “You’re Still A Young Man,” “So Very Hard To Go,” “Soul With a Capital S,” “Soul Vaccination,” “What Is Hip?”
Multi-platinum-selling War has been sharing its timeless music and message of brotherhood and harmony for over four decades before millions across the globe. Hits include “The World Is A Ghetto,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” “The Cisco Kid,” and “Low Rider.” Their current album, Evolutionary, features special guest collaborations with Cheech & Chong, Tower of Power, Joe Walsh, Malik Yusef, and the USC Marching Band.
