Theresa A. Ruiz dies at 89

—Theresa Ruiz, 89, of Santa Maria, Ca. passed away on November 2, 2017.
Theresa was born in EI Capitan Santa Barbara, Ca. September 7, 1928. She was the daughter of Brigida Alvarado and the mother of Lydia (Armando) Manriquez, Gloria Ruiz, Rachel Ruiz and Jesse Ruiz Jr.
Theresa was the grandmother of 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Mother Theresa loved to cook, was an amazing seamstress, a 4-H leader in Santa Maria teaching young ladies how to sew. She was an avid gardener. Her roses in her front yard were admired by many people.
Theresa was preceded in death by her brother Gilbert Ortega, husband Jesse C. Ruiz, mother Brigida Alvarado and her sister Mary Lou Gonzales.
The family of Theresa Ruiz would like to extend their appreciation and care to Marian Hospital, Arroyo Grande Acute Rehabilitation Center and to the Santa Maria Care Center. Who provided end of life care and human kindness.
Visitation will be held at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary on Tuesday November 14, 2017 at 6:00 pm. A memorial mass will be held Wednesday November 15, 2017 at 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
A reception will immediately follow at the Santa Maria Elks Lodge 1538.
