Templeton Women’s Charitable Club expands scholarship program
Three $2,500 scholarships to be awarded starting in 2026
– The Templeton Women’s Charitable Club has voted to expand its annual scholarship program beginning in 2026, increasing from two scholarships to three, each valued at $2,500.
The scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors from Templeton High School or Templeton Independent Study High School.
“The community’s support has been incredible, and being able to add a third scholarship means we can make an even bigger impact on our local graduates,” said MeShawn Dimos, president of the Templeton Women’s Charitable Club. “Having grown up on the island of Guam, where community and helping one another are a way of life, I feel especially honored to have been chosen to lead this group of generous, dedicated women here in North County.”
Founded in 1913, the Templeton Women’s Charitable Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports programs improving the lives of residents in northern San Luis Obispo County. The club raises funds through local events, with proceeds reinvested in the community for scholarships, school-related programs, and other charitable causes.
The organization will host a Clothing Swap on Nov. 20 in partnership with Upscale Resale in Templeton. The event encourages women to exchange clothing items while supporting local charitable projects.
In April, the club will hold its annual Spring Tea, Silent Auction, and Membership Drive, with proceeds benefitting the scholarship fund and other community programs.
