Manny Gonzales to lead junior clinics and private lessons

Templeton Tennis Ranch has announced the addition of Manny Gonzales to its tennis program.

Gonzales, a third-year student at Cal Poly, previously worked for over five years as the junior tennis program coordinator at Bakersfield Racquet Club. He is also the assistant varsity tennis coach at Morro Bay High School.

Gonzales has been playing tennis for about eight years and coaching for the past four. He began his coaching career at the Bakersfield Racquet Club, where he helped revamp the junior program, led adult and high school drills, and organized club socials.

Since moving to the Central Coast to pursue his degree, Gonzales has continued coaching through private tennis lessons for beginner and intermediate junior players. He has also served as a multi-sport coach for the San Luis Coastal Unified School District, leading teams in five different sports.

Currently working toward his United States Professional Tennis Association certification, Gonzales is passionate about helping players of all levels develop their skills and fostering a love for the game. He particularly enjoys seeing players “get hooked” on tennis and have fun while improving.

Beyond tennis, Gonzales is pursuing a career in education and plans to become an elementary school teacher after earning his credential.

Gonzales’ availability at Templeton Tennis Ranch will primarily be on weekends. He will be teaching Green Ball and Yellow Ball junior clinics on Saturdays, at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively. He will also be available for private lessons for both juniors and adults. To register for a clinic or schedule a lesson with Gonzales, contact the front desk at (805) 434-9605.

Templeton Tennis Ranch is actively recruiting for a new Director of Tennis/Head Tennis Pro and working to bring additional enhancements to its tennis program. More updates are expected in the coming weeks.
