Templeton students bring true story to life in ‘Radium Girls’
Tickets on sale now
– The Templeton High School Theatre Arts Program will present its fall production, Radium Girls, from Nov. 6 through Nov. 15 at the Templeton High School Performing Arts Center, 1200 S. Main Street in Templeton.
The production is inspired by the true story of young women in the 1920s who worked painting luminous watch dials with radium and later became ill from exposure. The play follows Grace Fryer, a dial painter who fights for her day in court against the U.S. Radium Corporation while navigating opposition from her family and friends.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Tickets are available at templetondrama.ludus.com.
According to the Templeton High School Parent Teacher Organization, Radium Girls offers a theatrical look at American struggles with health, wealth, and the commercialization of science.
The production is supported by the school’s students, faculty, Drama Boosters, and community members. The Boosters organization credits local businesses and parents for their contributions to the program’s fall sponsorship drive.
