Templeton loses CIF title game to Immanuel

– Before a packed stadium of Eagles fans Friday night, the Templeton High School football team lost to the Immanuel Eagles of Reedley, 48-7, in the CIF Central Section Championship game for Division IV. Both teams entered the game undefeated with records of 12-0. It was Tempelton’s first CIF championship game in 30 years.
Immanuel dominated the first half with its size and aggressive offense. Their line is led by 6’7″, 360-pound Tipi Aloua. Six other Immanuel players weigh over 245 pounds. A fake punt by Immanuel created one scoring opportunity. They led 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Late in the game, Templeton quarterback Colter Tannehill threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Colby Sims for the Eagles’ only touchdown in the game. Both Tannehill and Sims are Juniors, so they will return next season. A previous touchdown pass to Sr. Ethan Armet was nullified by an illegal shift penalty.
Immanuel has allowed only one touchdown from each of its opponents in the 2025 playoffs. Immanuel will learn on Monday who they will play in the state championships semifinal game.
